Christoph G. Salzmann is a Professor of Physical and Materials Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry at University College London (UCL). The research activities of his group focus on the structural characterization of complex materials including disordered crystals, amorphous, glassy and nanomaterials as well as liquids. The keen ambition is to establish links between the atomic structure of materials, and their chemical and physical properties and performances. Building on this, his group investigates complex phase transitions and crystallization phenomena including under high-pressure conditions. Before his time at UCL, he worked at Durham University as a Lecturer and at Oxford University (Wadham College) as a Junior Research Fellow.
